Covid-19 has hugely weakened both the global economy and global trade and affects people in highly indebted countries, as well as people in countries with inadequate social security disproportionately. Many of the changes wrought upon us due to this crisis, even in economically strong countries like Germany and the United States, will not easily, and certainly not completely be reversible, even if a political consensus (still) appears to exist that suggests otherwise. Many of the jobs lost for example will not come back for a very long time (if ever). Life will get more difficult for most people, even in rich countries. Mitigating and addressing sustainably the many social, environmental and economic challenges this crisis poses will require, in addition to adequate investments, fundamental (economic, tax, social, etc) reforms.
Reboot2030 was conceived as an international forum for contemporary debate. It was initiated by the Democracy School to promote social innovation at a time of economic, environmental and political crisis.
